The silver highway of the sea
Beckons in my dream to me
Calling me to a place afar
At the dawn ‘neath dimming star
To see the rising orb of sun
Through mists of morn nightly spun
Which as they fade and disappear
Reveal hill and temple beyond Tangier
Where warm breezes gently flow
Carrying bird song sweet and low
Across the glaze of gleaming water
Undisturbed by wave or patter
In that moment time stands still
Nothing subject to her will
Heaven on Earth displayed to me
Voyaging the highway of the sea
